At Give A Paw Canine Wellness, LLC, we follow this basic process of learning to create conditions to consistently set your dog up for success, whether an older puppy, adolescent, or adult:
Our POSITIVE TRAINING approaches are customizable, and are specifically adapted to meet your dog where they are, not where we wish they were, ALREADY. In our model, we reinforce what we like, and we redirect what we don’t. We never punish. Dogs are never bad; they just are. They are a product of how well they were socialized with their littermates and people during their critical developmental puppy stages.
During any training journey, we encourage our clients to step into their dog’s paws: See through their eyes. Smell their world, yep, even the gross stuff. Listen to the sounds that matter to them, like the skittering of an unseen animal. Be a dog. Live in the moment. Be with your pup “ITMO,” (in the moment) as opposed to “NITMo,” (not in the moment). And, hey, why not put your mobile device in your pocket? As trainer, learner, and pet parents agree and communicate openly and supportively, we will be on our way to creating a space where dogs and their people have their needs and wants met as harmoniously as possible!
Note: For most of our suite of Services, we offer a 10% discount at every stage when purchases are processed through our website’s payment portal. However, with a few unique offerings such as this one, we have built in generous prepaid options, lower pricing, and other PAW-CKAGES that are equally cost-effective!
Good Citizens Training PAW CKAGE: Good Citizens Training PAW-CKAGE: These are 6 Seventy-Minute weekly training sessions designed to bring out the best Dog Citizen already inherent in your pup! This class is designed to teach you and your dog to become a caring, compassionate, and GENIUS team in the purest sense. You are in tune, listening to each other, where often with just a look, or a simple physical cue, a message is “e-tailed.” Chin on leg. Wait at the door’s threshold. Lie Down and Stay until cued. Able to walk into and around VERY distracting and otherwise unfamiliar sounds, sights, and smells. Though the curriculum and experience will be similar, this is not a certification class. However, you will find many opportunities in your community to bring your dog to offer comfort, brighten up someone’s day, or simply, when you are out in public, travel with a four-legged goodwill ambassador at your side to demonstrate what it means not just to be a good dog, but a good BEING. Dogs are required to pass a screening. For skilled to advanced learners who are highly socialized with people and dogs
